I have now been here at the Publick House since Valentine’s Day. It has been a tremendous experience so far but also tough because of all the familiar faces and friends that I had made at the Hawthorne Hotel over my 13 years of service to the operations. One thing that has not been hard to come by is meeting new people here and many returning guests that have become my new familiar.
I have had the honor and pleasure in meeting Robert and Virginia Stone. They have been frequenting the Publick House for over 25 years. What meant a lot to me were their comments on how they have come to know many of the staff members and how much they have enjoyed their services over the years. I felt proud as they stated that they only eat out at maybe two or three restaurants and we are one of them. Christmas Eve has some memories as it has been a tradition for them. They remember after being first married that they could barely afford going out for dinner but found this to be a special treat for them.
One thing that I enjoyed most about talking to Robert and Virginia is that they are what I consider great customers, not just because they keep coming but because of their constructive and positive feedback on their experiences. This helps me with knowing what my customers' expectations are and maybe what they would like to be able to experience here.
So thank you for the challenges and I hope to meet your expectations and try some of your ideas!

Hello Mr. Kluge-
I just discovered your blog today as I was perusing the website. My husband and I are going to celebrate our 2nd anniversary with several friends next month. As you have probably heard from many guests, we all loved the Publick House so much for our wedding that we keep wanting to come back!
I want to make a comment/suggestion about your menu. I am vegetarian, and I'm curious about whether or not you're planning to expand your vegetarian menu options. You do have pasta, but as I am also gluten intolerant, I can't eat it. Last year, I was spoiled by your awesome chef who put together a great custom plate for me. I can't help but wonder if others would enjoy more choices as well. I remember having a nice risotto during my wedding reception, for example.
Anyway, just thought I'd toss that out there!
We are looking forward to visiting next month!
